Augmented Reality Workshop
July 22, 2011, Radford University, Radford, Virginia
Imagine students interacting with their surroundings using mobiles devices like smart phones and iPads. That’s exactly the kind of learning being designed at Radford Unviversity. Radford Outdoor Augmented Reality (ROAR) is combining emerging technologies with inquiry-based learning in exciting ways. And, this summer, you get a chance to experience and create this kind of learning yourself.
The workshop will be led by Matt Dunleavy, Assistant Professor of Educational Technology, at Radford University. Matt came to Radford from Harvard University. He has continued his collaboration with the researchers there as well as at other universities including MIT. The work at Radford is supported by the National Science Foundation.
We will gather at Radford on Friday, July 22, and spend the day learning about AR and then learning how to incorporate it into instruction. You can learn more about ROAR at its website.
